Wrap Up
I didn't go so well but it's okay. I was really busy and I'm glad I read as much as I did. If this read-a-thon wasn't on, I probably would've read a lot less. I could of regret reading The Summoning because I only read thinking it was a vampire book but oh well, at least I liked it. Unfortunately I couldn't get to Feed but I might still read it one day.

Books, Brains ‘n Blood Read-A-Thon: Sign Up + Goals

Books, Brains 'n Blood Read-a-Thon
My Shelf Confessions is having a month long event celebrating all things Zombie and Vampire! All info here.

I've been devouring read-a-thons lately. They're just so much fun and I can't help but do them. This time, I'm doing the Books, Brains ‘n Blood Read-A-Thon which is a part of the one month event Vamps vs Zombies. The read-a-thon runs from August 2 – 6th. I will also be hosting a challenge on the 4 – 10th which I'm super excited about. This is my sign up post just to let you know that I'll be joining. I'll also tell you what books I really want to read. Okay so now to the books. To fit the Vamps vs. Zombies theme, I want to read 2 vampire themed books and 1 zombie themed book.

At the end, I'll choose which type I prefer because after all, this is Vamps vs. Zombies. It'd probably be unfair if I do end up only reading one zombie book but oh well. May the best man, ahem, book type, win.

Once Upon a Read-A-Thon: Goals + Progress + Challenges

The fourth annual Once Upon a Read-a-Thon is hosted by Candace at Candace’s Book Blog, Angela & Loretta at Reading Angels and Lori at Pure Imagination.

Being the lazy person I am, this time, I'm combining my goals, progress and challenges all in one post. Even though I joined a bit late, I'm still super excited.

Since this is a short read-a-thon, my goal is 3 books, one of them being an audiobook. I was already a couple pages in Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker and I want to try to finish this months TBR by finishing Walking Disasteby Jamie McGuire and Crash by Nicole Williams.

Continue reading to see my progress and my challenges.

1. Which book you are most excited to read in the coming year? It can be already released or coming soon.
This was easy for me. I'm super duper excited for Allegiant by Veronica Roth because, who isn't?
2. Which book would you re-read if you had the time and weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good things?
I don't usually re-read boos but since it said 'weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good things', I would re-read The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay because it's probably my favourite book ever.
3. If you could meet any fictional character who would it be and why?
I probably have the strangest choice but I'd love to meet Ridley from the Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia. If anyone has read it, you know that she's a b*tch but still, she's interesting.

You're in a bookstore and you've just purchased 5 books you've been dying to read, when the apocalypse hits. You've got one chance at survival, what 2 books do you take and what 3 other items do you take?
Two books that I have being dying to read and would definitely bring with me are Shift by Em Baily and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. As for the three other things, I'd bring a gun a gun because obviously, and my mum (mom, however you silly Americans want to spell it) because I love her, and I'd bring my pantry. I can bring my pantry right?
Make your dream guy using characteristics, personalities, looks, and anything else you can think of from your favorite book boyfriends.
First my cheesy answer is, I don't know what my dream guy is because I haven't met him yet. But my second answer, all cheesiness aside, is... I want, from The Hunger Games, Peter's baking skills. From Hopeless, Holden's sense of humour. From, Legend, Day's intelligence, diligence, and his race because his part Asian.

Favorite genre right now is YA/NA Contemporary Romance but it changes all the time.
Favorite book from YA/NA Contemporary Romance would be The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay.
I don't usually have favourite characters but I'd say Beth from Dare You To.

Wrap Up
I normally do my wrap ups in a whole different post but I figured this is probably a whole lot simpler. I had a slow start but I'm proud that I read 3 books in 3 days. All these read-a-thons are making me break a whole lot of records. It's barely a third of the month and I've already finished this month's TBR. In total, I read 899 pages if you convert my audiobook into pages. That's basically 300 pages a day. I'm lucky I'm holidays right now or I would've never been able to read that much. The challenges were also super fun. Since I live in Australia, the Twitter thingo isn't until Thursday. As I'm writing this, it's almost midnight Wednesday. I plan on participating though. Overall, a super fun experience.

Bout of Books 7.0: Challenge

Yesterday, I really wanted to do a challenge but there wasn't a challenge that appealed to me. Today though, there is a challenge called Create A Cover (hosted by I Talk Books) and as you guessed, I have to remake a cover. I chose the book I'm currently reading which is called Beautiful Disaster. I'm sure you've already heard of it. I wish I was creative enough to draw my own cover but instead I just took a photo. It's obviously a lot worse than the real cover but I tried to manipulate the concept it already had. Mine is on the left. Hope you like it!

Bout of Books 7.0: Goals

It's Monday! Alright so if you read my previous post, you would've seen that I'm not reading a lot but I'm still reading a lot more than I usually do. I will be trying to read before I sleep and throughout the day whenever I can find the time. I don't want to make a set goal but this is how I will feel:
1 Book - Disappointed
2 Books - Fairly Disappointed (but not too surprised)
3 Books - Pretty Happy
4 Books - Extremely Excited
More Than 4 Books - I'll Probably Just Cry
I also hope to do a few challanges as well.

The books I plan to read in order are:

Bout of Books 7.0: Sign Up

Bout of Books The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
 - From the Bout of Books team

Hi everyone, I probably should've signed up earlier and probably am the last person to join this read-a-thon but I finally decided to give in and just do it. Unfortunately this week I have like a billion exams to do but I'm going to push through it and try to read more than I usually do anyway. My goal for this week will most likely be a lot less than everyone else but normally, I barely even read more than two books in a week. Be expecting a lot of book posts this week as I will be trying to update every single day. I'll throw in a music post somewhere in there but for the most post, this week will be book post after book post. Wish me luck!
