Q: Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

I've learnt many many things in the process of blogging. In the past month, I've learnt how to do things such as the slider that features my latest posts. It was excruciatingly hard but it wasn't too bad. I know, paradox but it was only hard because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my blog. My experience with blogging has been amazing because I've learnt how to do so many things with blog design. I'm Asian, which makes me really cheap, which means I still have yet to pay someone to do my blog design. I'm guess I'm glad I never did though because otherwise, I would've never learnt how to do things like my blockquote, slider and how to use Photoshop CS6. Just while I'm talking about blog design, just a reminder that I offer free blog designing for all the simple stuff. If there are any elements on my blog that you'd like to see on yours, feel free to contact me.

I know that weekly memes are meant to be forever. I feel really bad 'quitting' but at this point, I don't want to continue doing the Feature and Follow Friday posts. I still and always will follow back anyone who lets me know that they have a blog. Nowadays, I have so many posts that I have to do and this post takes up a day of what could be a different post. I don't like posting too much on one day. Once again, I will still follow back everyone because I love my followers, I've just decided that I don't want to do these posts again. Farewell guys. Especially to Jessica @ a GREAT read who manages to leave a comment on every single one of these posts.

You can continue to leave comments on this post and I will follow you back.

Q: Back to School time! Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you'll be teaching this semester.

After a lot of thinking, I thought I'd do an author study kind of thing. If I was teaching an imaginary English Lit class (which by the way, I have no idea about since I live in Australia), I would have to expose them to John Green! His not my all time favourite author but I don't think Nicholas Sparks books would be appropriate for school. Even though John Green explores a lot of scary themes, I still think that his writing is amazing. I still have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like his books. I've read all his books except for The Abundance of Katherines which I really do need to read one day.

Like normal, I love all my followers. I just hope you guys stay loyal. If you like my blog, feel free to follow whichever way is easiest for me. Don't forget to drop your links in the comments so that I can check out your blog too!

I didn't go so well but it's okay. I was really busy and I'm glad I read as much as I did. If this read-a-thon wasn't on, I probably would've read a lot less. I could of regret reading The Summoning because I only read thinking it was a vampire book but oh well, at least I liked it. Unfortunately I couldn't get to Feed but I might still read it one day.

Q: How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

I normally try my very hardest to power through the books. I think I've only ever marked 3 books as 'Did Not Finish'. Those books were Stolen, A Game of Thrones and The Time Traveler's Wife. Most of the time, I push through because I feel like I have a responsibility to finish them.

I love all my followers no matter how you follow. Just do what's easiest for you! Also, I hope you can maybe check out some of my other posts as well. Finally, one last favor, I hope you can vote in the poll, located in the sidebar, to let me know which comment system is your favourite.

Radical Read-Along: Day 5 Discussion

Music Plus Books
So it's the last day with the last chapters and I'm so sad! I had a wonderful experience with this Read-Along and I'm glad I could discuss with all you lovely people.

In the last few chapters of Unearthly, lot’s of bombshells were dropped. I really liked it when Clara decided to go save Tucker first. I was having a major swoon moment because I’m Team Tucker for life. About a page or two before it actually happened, I realised that Christian was an angel too. I had a face palm moment because I have no idea how I didn't notice earlier! Then when they came and Clara’s like “Show yourself!” and I’m just like OMG IT'S TRUE! Know, I just need to know what happens between them. I swear, it's such a coincidence that so many angels live in the one place. I actually really liked how it all ended. I kind of don’t want to read the next book because I liked it so much. The problem is that there’s so many mysteries left unsolved. I only like the ending because she’s with Tucker and I don’t want that to change. I might go find spoilers to make sure she ends up with Tucker before I read the next book.

Today, for the final challenge, head on over to Rather Be Reading YA for the Review challenge. All you have to do is write a review and you have a chance (a big chance) to win your very own e-copy of Hallowed. My review will be going up as soon as possible. Hopefully tomorrow! Also, I've extended the time for the Cover Remake & Dream Cast challenges which means you still have time to enter them!

Radical Read-Along: Day 4 Discussion

Music Plus Books
So close to the end now. Today is the last day of reading! Yesterday I read Chapter 14-18 and today will be for 19-22 and then we're done! OMG! Tomorrow, I'll be posting both the Day 5 Discussion the the final review.

These five chapters were probably my absolute favourite so far. I have yet to see the last four but I'm hoping it has a nice ending. I've made it pretty clear that I am Team Tucker for life so of course I adored yesterday's chapters. So much happened between them. First, they started getting closer because of her birthday. Then when they kissed I was like OMG SWOOON. I swear it was so so cute that I couldn't take it. But then, it ended because she went into glory mode and I was so sad. But then, she told him and it was all okay again. It was so sweet how Tucker took it. It was all going well until Christian called and then like what the hell, Clara's mum tells her to break it off with Tucker?! AND THEN they actually break up?! I was super extremely devastated. I mean I know all good things must come to an end, but why?! Also, Angela came back and started talking about the Black Wings and all. There's something definitely really fishy going on with her. In these chapters, my favourite quote/scene was:
"Is it okay to kiss you?" he asks.
"What?"
"I won't get struck by lightning?"
I laugh. Then lean in to brush my lips against his. His hands on my waist tighten.
"No lightning," I say

Today's challenge should be hosted on Paperback Princess. Honestly though, I'm not sure. Angelica hasn't replied to my email and she hasn't been participating in the discussion so I really don't think she'll be hosting it. Check out her blog and check for it anyway. If not, just for fun, you can do the Acrostic Poem challenge. That was what she was going to host if she didn't.

Also, please vote for which comment system you like best! The poll can be found in the sidebar.

Radical Read-Along: Day 3 Discussion

Music Plus Books
It's getting closer and closer to the end! Yesterday Chapters 10, 11, 12 and 13 were read and today I'm here with the discussion post. Remember to read chapters 14-18 today!

Chapter 10 starts off with Wendy and Clara making up. I don't know, I just really think that deep down she's some evil ass. She's probably actually really nice, she just seem TOO nice to me. When Kay broke up with Christian I was laughing so hard because Kay took it so badly. How she rubbed up against Jeffrey and Clara's just like "Wow. Original. Now get off my brother, please." I almost felt bad for Kay, ALMOST. At the end of this chapter, she has another flying lesson. I wonder if she'll ever get there. I felt so bad for her though *frowns*. Then after that, when Clara, Angela, Wendy and Clara's mum were shopping and they bumped into the Black Wing. I was so worried about what was going to happen to them! When Clara built up her courage and asked Christian to prom, I was really proud of her. Except, I don't want her to be Christian! I want her to be with Tucker! Waaaahh. I was kind of glad when Tucker drove her home but I feel like he could have tried harder to win her heart. During the prom, Clara also mentioned going hiking. Maybe it's a connection to forest fire in her visions? Then Clara and Christian started hanging out more and I mean I'm not against them or anything I just really wish Tucker would try harder. It was nice how she finally learned to fly though. I was so proud of her!

Today's challenge can be found on  Oops! I Read A Book Again where all you have to do is let Dianne know which team your on for your chance to win an e-copy of Hallowed, the second book in the series. I think it's pretty safe to say, and pretty obvious that I'm 100% Team Tucker!

Books, Brains ‘n Blood Read-A-Thon: Sign Up + Goals

Books, Brains 'n Blood Read-a-Thon
My Shelf Confessions is having a month long event celebrating all things Zombie and Vampire! All info here.

I've been devouring read-a-thons lately. They're just so much fun and I can't help but do them. This time, I'm doing the Books, Brains ‘n Blood Read-A-Thon which is a part of the one month event Vamps vs Zombies. The read-a-thon runs from August 2 – 6th. I will also be hosting a challenge on the 4 – 10th which I'm super excited about. This is my sign up post just to let you know that I'll be joining. I'll also tell you what books I really want to read. Okay so now to the books. To fit the Vamps vs. Zombies theme, I want to read 2 vampire themed books and 1 zombie themed book.

At the end, I'll choose which type I prefer because after all, this is Vamps vs. Zombies. It'd probably be unfair if I do end up only reading one zombie book but oh well. May the best man, ahem, book type, win.

Radical Read-Along: Day 2 Discussion

Music Plus Books
After reading up to Chapter 9, I'm just loving the book more and more. Today is Day 3 which means that here is my discussion for what I read on Day 2! Today the Chapters 10-13 will be read! Remember to not read this if you haven't read Unearthly yet.

Chapter 5 started with the roots of the Romance. It's funny to see how big of a crush Clara has on Christian even though he's her purpose. What is that all about anyway? I'm so curious to see what her actual purpose will be! I mean, it can't really be for her to become his girlfriend. I've been loving Clara's mum and brother as well. Her mum is like the coolest person ever! And even though it'll probably turn out bad, I like to see Clara's brother rebelling. In these chapters, we also found out all the stuff about Angela. I just knew that there was something going on! It wasn't too big of a surprise though and I think that there's more bombshells to be dropped. One of the funniest scenes was when she was horse riding and how she whispered in Angelic to the horse. Like OMG I wish I could speak every language including Angelic. I don't know who most people would prefer but I'm routing for Tucker against Christian. I just, I don't know, I like Tucker better. At the end of Chapter 9, there's that big show down between Wendy and Clara. I don't know how I feel about it because even though Clara was being kind of mean for hanging out with Angela so much, I still don't really care how Wendy feels. Wendy just doesn't seem right to me. Nek minnit I'm completely wrong and she's actually really good but oh well.

Okay well that was a long paragraph! Phew! Don't forget to link up your discussion posts as well because those five chapters were definitely jam packed with story. Also, today, don't forget to head on over to Downright Dystopian for the Dream Cast challenge.

Radical Read-Along: Day 1 Discussion

Music Plus Books
Hey guys! Yay for the first discussion post. So yesterday, to kick start the Unearthly Radical Read-Along, I read 4 chapters. So today, along with everyone else, I'll be discussing! Today will be for Chapters 5-9. Of course, this post will be comprised of spoilers.

As soon as I started reading, I knew I would love it. I love the subtle way that Cynthia Hand introduced the world. I love the concept and how even though Clara is an angel, she still has the normal teenage girl characteristics. Does anyone else think the chapter names are awesome? I always like it when the chapters are more than just 'Chapter One'. I can't wait to get deeper into the story because right now, there are so many characters being introduced. I've labeled Kay the jealous b*tch, Angela the 'weird but going to be a big part of the story girl' and Christian the main guy of course. Then there's Wendy and I don't know how to feel about her. I just feel like there's something fishy about her but I could be wrong. The back in time flashback thing in Chapter 4 was a really cool way to give background to the story. My favourite quote/scene was:
“And when was this?”
“It was April,” she said. “1906.”
I felt like I was going to throw up. “That would make you what, a hundred and ten?”
“A hundred and sixteen, this year.”
I just though of Twilight and cracked up so much! Haha, okay, now it's your turn to tell me what you though of the first four chapters.

But before that, today I'm hosting a challenge where you could win your own e-copy of Hallowed, the next in the series! All you have to do is remake the cover of Unearthly. It doesn't have to be anything special, just something simple is fine. After all, it's just for fun! You can add it to your discussion post or you can make a separate one if you'd like.

Q: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

Since I read books from the library, well after I read them, I return them. It's sad but true. I also read e-books and so I just leave them there on my device. Being the weird person I am, after I read books that I own, I put them in a drawer. I know what you're thinking but yeah, I have a book draw.

Q: Where is the best destination reading spot for you?

Other than at home I really don't read anywhere else. My perfect destination would be at a beach or a nice park. Really though, the only other place I read that's not at home is on the train and I wouldn't really consider that the best destination read spot. My comfy couch or bed is perfect enough for me.

My favourite book of all time is probably The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. I was trying to think of an awesome way to photobomb a picture but in the end I just did a selfie because I'm uncreative. Oh well. Hope you enjoy! I don't have the hard copy so I cheated and used my tablet.

Once Upon a Read-A-Thon: Goals + Progress + Challenges

The fourth annual Once Upon a Read-a-Thon is hosted by Candace at Candace’s Book Blog, Angela & Loretta at Reading Angels and Lori at Pure Imagination.

Being the lazy person I am, this time, I'm combining my goals, progress and challenges all in one post. Even though I joined a bit late, I'm still super excited.

Since this is a short read-a-thon, my goal is 3 books, one of them being an audiobook. I was already a couple pages in Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker and I want to try to finish this months TBR by finishing Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire and Crash by Nicole Williams.

Continue reading to see my progress and my challenges.

1. Which book you are most excited to read in the coming year? It can be already released or coming soon.
This was easy for me. I'm super duper excited for Allegiant by Veronica Roth because, who isn't?
2. Which book would you re-read if you had the time and weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good things?
I don't usually re-read boos but since it said 'weren't so busy reading ALL of the other good things', I would re-read The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay because it's probably my favourite book ever.
3. If you could meet any fictional character who would it be and why?
I probably have the strangest choice but I'd love to meet Ridley from the Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia. If anyone has read it, you know that she's a b*tch but still, she's interesting.

You're in a bookstore and you've just purchased 5 books you've been dying to read, when the apocalypse hits. You've got one chance at survival, what 2 books do you take and what 3 other items do you take?
Two books that I have being dying to read and would definitely bring with me are Shift by Em Baily and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. As for the three other things, I'd bring a gun a gun because obviously, and my mum (mom, however you silly Americans want to spell it) because I love her, and I'd bring my pantry. I can bring my pantry right?
Make your dream guy using characteristics, personalities, looks, and anything else you can think of from your favorite book boyfriends.
First my cheesy answer is, I don't know what my dream guy is because I haven't met him yet. But my second answer, all cheesiness aside, is... I want, from The Hunger Games, Peter's baking skills. From Hopeless, Holden's sense of humour. From, Legend, Day's intelligence, diligence, and his race because his part Asian.

Favorite genre right now is YA/NA Contemporary Romance but it changes all the time.
Favorite book from YA/NA Contemporary Romance would be The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay.
I don't usually have favourite characters but I'd say Beth from Dare You To.

Wrap Up
I normally do my wrap ups in a whole different post but I figured this is probably a whole lot simpler. I had a slow start but I'm proud that I read 3 books in 3 days. All these read-a-thons are making me break a whole lot of records. It's barely a third of the month and I've already finished this month's TBR. In total, I read 899 pages if you convert my audiobook into pages. That's basically 300 pages a day. I'm lucky I'm holidays right now or I would've never been able to read that much. The challenges were also super fun. Since I live in Australia, the Twitter thingo isn't until Thursday. As I'm writing this, it's almost midnight Wednesday. I plan on participating though. Overall, a super fun experience.

Q: Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

With all the Dystopian, there are heaps of books with an overthrow of the government. One off the top of my head has to be Matched by Ally Condie. There are definitely better books that have a corrupt government but the Matched series really displays a government completely overthrown.

I just made a new FeedBurner link so I'd love it if you could follow me there. I will appreciate you following no matter how you do it. All my links are in my header or in my sidebar. And of course, I will return the favour so don't forget to leave your links in the comment section. I would definitely prefer you check out my other posts and leave a comment there though. My NetworkedBlogs and Facebook still need extra love. Thank you everyone!

Q: Preferred reading format?

I'm planning to do a whole post on this very soon so make sure you follow so that you don't miss it. For now, I'll say that it really all depends. I love hardbacks, but they're expensive. I love paperbacks but like hardbacks, they're heavy. I like e-books but you don't get the full reading experience. I like audiobooks but again, no full reading with paper experience. So as you can see, it really all depends for me.

Activity: Favourite Literary Quote

I don't think the question could've gotten any harder. How am I meant to answer this? This isn't my absolute favourite but it's one of my favourites. I looked through all the books I've read recently and chose one that I think would have lots of nice quotes. I was actually surprised by how many quotes I take note of in each book. After all, quotes are my thing.

by [Dingane] "Fear, sadness. They're not weaknesses. They are overpowering, defining emotions. They make you human, Sophie."
