Debut-A-Thon: Sign Up

Debut-A-Thon is a read-a-thon hosted by Books of Amber to celebrate YA debuts in 2013. All information and sign ups can be found here.

I've been doing a bunch of things ending in a-thon lately but I'm not ready to stop. I find these super fun and they always give me a boost of motivation. This Debut-A-Thon starts right after my Review-A-Thon ends so I'll be heaps busy for a while. I was about 10% of the way through when I found out about this so I stopped reading that and started a different book. I thought I may as well save it for the Debut-A-Thon. Now four days is a pretty short time span and I honestly don't think I'll get that much reading done. My goal is to finish off by, read by and if I somehow I finish those two, I want to also read  by

Review: All For Love by Lady Antebellum

Genres: Country, Country-Pop, Pop
Released: 7th May 2013
Members: Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood
℗ 2013 Capitol Records Nashville.

Country music doesn't take up much in my music but I do have the rare Country-Pop album here and there. Lady Antebellum's new album Golden recently came out and I've been really enjoying it. After a few days, I can easily say that my favourite song on the album is All For Love. It is track number 10. When I first saw the title, I expected something really happy but it's a lot more deep and meaningful than that.
Song:
This ballad was absolutely perfect. I loved how dramatic it was. The piano and bass in the background elevated the song even more. The chorus was super powerful with the electric guitar and amazing vocals. Hillary and Charles's voices were both amazing. Though they never sung together, the transition between them was effortless.
Lyrics:
The song is about a frayed relationship. My favourite part is the ending.
"Love, something you know nothing of
Cause if you did, there's still be an us
I did it all for love."
Those lines pretty much sum up the song. A love that's strong but a love without understanding. The lyrics are truly beautiful.
Summary:
Most of my reviews a positive and here's another one. I loved this song! I barely ever review bad songs. Sad songs, yes, but bad songs, no. I love just staying in my room and singing this, hoping that nobody can hear my terrible singing even though my family and neighbours probably can. Even though Lady Antebellum are a Country - Pop band, I don't see much in this song. This is why I feel as though this song can aim at many different audiences. If you love Country music, you'll love this. If you love Pop, you'll love this. If you like ballads, you'll really love this. I hope you'll check it out!

Books Of April 2013!

This month, I've just had way too much time. I've been posting more than usual, and also reading more than usual! If you remember last month, I read one book. Yep, only one. I was so disappointed in myself but luckily I've picked myself up for this month. I finished all the books I was planning to read this month and all the books I was planning to read in March. In total I've read five books and done two reviews. This may seem like nothing for some people but it's quite a lot for me. My blog isn't all about books which is why I don't do a review for each book I read. I'll gladly do a review if any one asks for one though. However, I do sum up my thoughts at the end of each month! Continue reading to see my thoughts and ratings. Also, the links to my reviews, links to the Goodreads pages and links to where you can buy these amazing books.

TBR in April 2013!

Hello everyone! After a very disappointing month of reading in March, I'm ready to try again. In the past few weeks some books that I've been waiting for, for a long time have come out. I'm really, extremely excited about them all and I really hope that I can get around to reading them all this month. I know that if I don't there's going to be more books that I'll want to read next month. If you saw my Sequels Coming Out In 2013 post, you would've seen that Requiem (which I'm currently reading) and Clockwork Princess have come out and The Elite will be coming out and the 23rd this month. If I have anymore time, I also want to read Looking for Alaska  which was on last month's TBR. I really hope that this month will be a lot less busy than last month or if it is busy, I'll just ignore all my work to read. If I get into another reading slump where I really don't feel like reading, someone has to punch me or something.
