TBR in June 2013!

I'm really excited because I've been able to keep up with making themes for my TBRs. The theme I chose for this month is Sequels. One day, I'll think of a theme that is less broad. I want to be able to do a genre theme rather than something simple like Sequels. Maybe next month I'll be able to. This month though, the books I'm going to read are all sequels that I've been planning to read for a long time. I'm going to read them in no particular order. Drum roll please.

Music Disappointments Of May 2013!

There aren't many songs that I wish I could've liked this month but there are a few. Most months, I just skip this post because I don't find many. I decided that five was enough. I'm going to sound really mean but I promise that I was just being honest. None of these songs are extremely terrible and I still urge you to check them out. These are only my opinions.

Songs I Wished I Could've Added To My Playlist:
Best Friends - Janoskians
I actually really like the Janoskians' videos even though they are really stupid. This is their second single and I was really excited until I listened to the lyrics. Also, their singing is reasonable but it's not enough for me.
"Best friends, you are my f*cking best friends.

And this song, I'm really feeling this song.

Live It Up (feat. Pitbull) - Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull were the dream team when they did On The Floor but this was too much of the same. The parts that were unique just didn't make up for it. I think the only part I enjoyed was when no one was rapping or singing. There was this one part where JLO was just talking and that was kind of weird for me.

#Beautiful (feat. Miguel) - Mariah Carey
Who doesn't love Mariah Carey? I love her too but I just didn't like this song. I'm not sure why because everything about the song is quite nice. I think it's a little bit to soft for me. It doesn't have that part where I just break out and start singing. There's nothing exciting to lead up to.

Blurred Lines (feat. T.I & Pharrell) - Robin Thicke
There's been a big hype going around this month. I don't know why, I just don't like the style of the music. I think the lyrics are just a little stupid. "You dah hottest girl in dah world." Yeah, I don't know. I can see why the song can be really catchy but the lyrics ruin it for me. At first, I'll nod my head to it, then I'll listen to it and be like uuuh ew. The lyrics are ruining a lot of songs for me huh?

The two guitars continue into this section. Walloping (a technical term
meaning hit very hard &) the strings using the full barre sounds pretty
good. The lead basically follows the bass. You can do both (like you
can tweak the slide riff with one guitar)
 
I think i can probably tabascii the bass now, ive listened to it enough.
But ive had it for this song!! unless someone really needs it please dont
ask just yet.. Ive gotten transfixed by a few other zepplin tracks
that where on the album, their slower more melodic stuff like no quarter
down by the seaside etc..

DEFTONES GETARKAN KOTA BANDUNG

Band metal alternatif asal Sacramento, Amerika Serikat, Deftones dipastikan akan menyambangi Indonesia untuk yang kedua kalinya.

Namun kali ini bukan Jakarta yang menjadi lokasi tempat konser mereka, namun Bandung.

Konser Deftones dengan promotor Nada Promotama akan dihelat di The Venue Concert Hall, Eldorado, Jalan Setiabudi, Bandung, Kamis (30/5) malam.

Sebelumnya, konser pertama Deftones di Indonesia dilaksanakan di Tennis Indoor, Senayan, Jakarta pada 8 Februari 2011.

Dipilihnya Bandung sebagai lokasi perhelatan konser menurut Abe Aditya dari Nada Promotama dikarenakan Bandung memiliki fanbase Deftones tertinggi.

Disamping untuk memuaskan rasa penasaran fans Deftones di Bandung dan sekitarnya yang belum sempat melihat mereka di Jakarta.

"Fan base Deftones di Bandung sangat banyak dan tinggi. Hal itu terbukti dengan terjual habisnya tiket presale," ujar Abe saat dihubungi, Minggu (19/5/2013).

Selain itu alasan lainnya adalah keinginan untuk menjadikan Bandung sebagai tujuan utama bagi band-band yang akan konser di Indonesia selain Jakarta.

"Bandung tak kalah bagusnya dengan kota lain untuk digelarnya suatu konser. Kami ingin jadikan Bandung sebagai tujuan utama band-band internasional dalam berkonser di Indonesia," tegasnya.

Books Of May 2013!

I'm extremely happy with how much I've read this month. In total, I've read six books! This has to be some kind of record for me. I read three and a half of them in the Bout of Books read-a-thon which shows I only read a lot when I feel like I have to. Either way, I really enjoyed myself this month. I read two books that weren't on my TBR.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

SKATEBOARD BLACK SABBATH TERJUAL SEHARGA 19,6 JUTA RUPIAH

Sebuah skateboard yang bertema Black Sabbath dikabarkan telah terjual seharga dua ribu dollar AS (sekitar Rp 19,6 juta), demikian menurut Ultimate Classic Rock. Skateboard edisi terbatas tersebut sebenarnya dijual saat tur konser reuni Black Sabbath dengan Ozzy Osbourne di AS pada 1999.

Keempat roda skateboard tersebut menampilkan logo Black Sabbath. Di bagian atas papan terdapat slogan Never Say Die dan sepasang lambang yin dan yang. Sang penjual mengaku membeli skateboard yang masih terbungkus rapi tersebut saat konser di Philadelphia pada 18 Februari 1999. Dalam penampilan saat itu, Black Sabbath memainkan lagu “War Pigs”, “Snowblind”, dan “Iron Man”.

Black Sabbath telah melakukan reuni dengan Osbourne dalam beberapa kesempatan pada 1985 dan 1992, tapi penampilan mereka pada akhir 90-an menampilkan tur secara penuh untuk pertama kalinya sejak bubar pada 1979.

Dua anggota awal Black Sabbath, gitaris Tony Iommi dan bassist Geezer Butler, belakangan ini melakukan beberapa konser reuni dengan Osbourne. Album 13 yang telah lama ditunggu kabarnya akan dirilis pada Juni mendatang. Untuk mendukung kehadiran album tersebut, Black Sabbath juga dijadwalkan untuk menggelar tur konser AS.
